The abdominal cavity is covered by a muscle layer that normally keeps the organs in their place. If a segment of that muscular wall is debilitated, an abnormal protrusion (swelling) of intra-abdominal tissue can appear through it. The mentioned before is what we call a hernia.
Inguinal hernia treatment is with surgery, which can be performed by a laparoscopic approach with the use of prosthetic material (synthetic meshes). Repairing of the defect without any tension. With a synthetic mesh, it causes fibrosis avoiding the hernia to return. |
