Breast Augmentation
A well done breast augmentation operation is practically undetectable, as long it does not surpass the correct placement measures and keeps an aesthetically coherent pectoral contour. The positioning and material of the prosthesis must be decided based on the type of implants, the size that is desired to obtain, the patients physique (height, thoracic-perimeter, etc.) and the existing natural package, that is to say, the thickness of the skin and the amount of fat and the mammary gland.
The important thing is that the prosthesis is well covered and is not perceived through the skin, for a woman with a large gland, it’s possible to perform a retromammary implant (walled in between the gland and muscle), but doesn’t have that natural cushioning, it would be convenient to perform a subpectoral implant, taking off the pectoral muscle from the ribcage to create a pocket where the prosthesis can be placed. This way, the muscle is on the surface covering the prosthesis and avoids its edges to be felt. It is important the surgeon to know how to make the sufficient space so that the prosthesis is not imprisoned and it can naturally.
The most used implants are the silicone based; they can be liquid or high-cohesive silicone, similar to a “gummy-bear” or gelatin. Being solid, they can take anatomical form or of a tear-drop, like the natural profile of the chest. Some surgeons prefer the latter ones because they always maintain their form. As time goes by, the liquid can fall towards the sides. The saline-based prosthesis has the advantage of being able to be introduced empty and later can be filled once their placed, which allows us to reduce the size of the incision and to insert them from the armpit. They have the disadvantage of draining a little over the years, leaving to superior area somewhat deflated.
GLUTES (BUTTOCKS)
Reduction
Without a doubt, the number one surgical intervention to solve a “voluptuous” buttock is liposuction, since the elimination of skin through the use of a scalpel leaves a very visible scar. The perfect candidate for this intervention is the woman who, having reached her ideal weight, without any overweight problems and with firm skin, continues having much more generous back measures that the pectoral ones. In that case, liposuction techniques can be the ideal alternative, since they fight all accumulated fat in a localized form. Once again, it is necessary to insist on the importance of starting off with an elastic skin, if on the contrary, you’re going to increase flaccidity.
In spite of multiple cases of badly done liposuctions that exist, it is necessary to confess that this technique has revolutionized the treatments of remodeling the human figure, and if performed well, offers spectacular results, mainly towards fat that is resistant to any weight loss diet. It consists basically, in making a small incision where a cannula is going to introduced, that’s connected to a machine creating a vacuum effect. The surgeon manipulates the cannula in the depth of the fat layers under the skin, diluting the fat and sucking it right out.
Augmentation
Women who do want to show-off a “voluptuous butt” and can resort to implants similar to the ones used in breast, the form of the prosthesis is different and more adequate for the buttocks. These are placed within an open pocket in the gluteus maximus muscle that lifts it and it is more pronounced. Like in breast implants, a suitable size must be chosen in order to avoid create an undesirable result.
